Tilian Pearson (born July 12, 1987), also known mononymously as Tilian, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and record producer born in Clearwater, Florida, Clearwater, Florida. From 2012 to 2024, he was the clean vocalist for American post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance. Pearson began his music career as the lead vocalist and guitarist in the progressive rock band Tides of Man, releasing an extended play and two studio albums before leaving in 2010. After parting ways with Tides of Man, Pearson briefly joined the American rock bands Saosin and Emarosa following the departure of their respective vocalists, however never released any material with the groups. In August 2012, he joined Dance Gavin Dance, replacing Jonny Craig, and released the album ''Acceptance Speech (Dance Gavin Dance album), Acceptance Speech'' (2013). The album serves as a follow-up to his third studio album, ''The Skeptic (album), The Skeptic'' (2018). Similar to ''The Skeptic'', the album was produced by Kris Crummett, who also performed drums, while Tilian performed guitar, bass, keyboards, synthesizers, and handled additional production. ''The Skeptic'' is the third solo studio album by American singer-songwriter and former Dance Gavin Dance vocalist Tilian Pearson, released on September 28, 2018, through Future Friends and Rise Records. The album is a follow-up to his second studio album, '' Perfect Enemy'' (2015), and is his first solo release on Rise since departing with Vital Records. The album was produced by Kris Crummett, who performed drums and percussion on the record, while Pearson performed guitar, keyboards, and bass guitar. Dance Gavin Dance is an American Rock music, rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. It consists of lead guitarist Will Swan (musician), Will Swan, drummer Matthew Mingus, harsh vocalist Jon Mess, and lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Andrew Wells. The band formerly included lead vocalists Jonny Craig, Kurt Travis, and Tilian Pearson, and the lineup has changed numerous times since their inception. ''Perfect Enemy'' is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Tilian Pearson, released on November 27, 2015, on Vital Records. The album was produced by Kris Crummett and Matt Malpass. It is Pearson's final studio album to be released on Vital before signing to Rise Records three years later. Background ''Perfect Enemy'' was written over the last three years and recorded throughout September 2015. In an interview with magazine ''Teal Cheese'', Pearson revealed that he recorded six songs with producer Kris Crummett in Portland, Oregon, tracked one song in Malibu, California, and worked with producer Matt Malpass in Atlanta, Georgia. Emarosa ( ) is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2006. The band currently consists of lead guitarist and founding member ER White and lead vocalist Bradley Walden, who joined the band in 2013. The group has undergone several line-up changes throughout its career, with lead guitarist ER White being the sole remaining founding member. Originally oriented towards post-hardcore and alternative rock, Emarosa has gravitated towards a more pop rock sound in recent years. Jonathan Monroe Craig (born March 26, 1986) is an American-Canadian singer, widely recognised for his tenure as the former lead vocalist of renowned post-hardcore bands such as Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, and then Slaves, as well as his role as co-lead vocalist in the short-lived supergroup Isles & Glaciers. Presently, he serves as the lead vocalist for the American post-hardcore band Old Flame. As a solo artist, Craig has released two studio albums, two EPs, and a live album, garnering acclaim for his distinctive soul-based singing style. Saosin ( or ) is an American rock band formed in 2003 in Orange County, California. The group originally consisted of Beau Burchell, Justin Shekoski, Zach Kennedy and Anthony Green. They released their debut EP, '' Translating the Name'', in 2003. The following year, Green departed from the band and Cove Reber joined as vocalist. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2006 under Capitol Records. Their second studio album, '' In Search of Solid Ground'' (2009), released under Virgin Records, featured re-recorded tracks from their previous EP, ''The Grey EP''. Rise Records is an American record label currently based in Beaverton, Oregon, mainly focusing on alternative rock, heavy metal, and punk rock music artists.
