Tiit Vähi
Tiit Vähi (born 10 January 1947) is an Estonian politician who was Prime Minister of Estonia from 1995 to 1997. He was also acting Prime Minister for several months during 1992 under the transitional government. Life and career Born in Kaagjärve Parish, Estonia, Vähi graduated from the Tallinn Technical University with a degree in engineering. From the time of his graduation until 1992, he served in several top managerial post with the Valga Trucking Company. During the Estonian national independence movement, Vähi was among the organisers of the Estonian Popular Front, and led its regional committee in Valga County. In 1989, he was appointed Minister of Transport and Communications, a post that he held until January 1992. During his tenure as Transport Minister, he forged close ties with the transport ministries of the Nordic countries and improved relations with the other two Baltic States on transport related issues. Märt Rask
Märt Rask (born 19 December 1950) is an Estonian attorney, jurist, and politician who was the Estonian Minister of the Interior from 1995 to 1996, as well as being the Justice Minister in 1992 and from 1999 to 2003 and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Estonia from 2004 to 2013. Biography Rask is the son of lawyer Valdeko Leeto (1927–1992). Rask's son, Rasmus Rask (born 1977) was a member of the Estonian Bar Association from 2000 to 2001. Rask graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu in 1978. Starting 1 August 1978, From August 1, 1978, he was a member of the Estonian SSR Lawyers' College. Siim Kallas
Siim Kallas (; born 2 October 1948) is an Estonian former politician, having served as Prime Minister of Estonia and European Commissioner. From 1972-90 Kallas was a member of the CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union). In 1987, Kallas was one of the authors of the IME plan for self-managing Estonia with Tiit Made, Edgar Savisaar and Mikk Titma. The plan proposed to make Estonia economically independent from the Soviet Union – adopting a market economy and establishing Estonia’s own currency and tax system. Kallas was elected a member of the Congress of People's Deputies of the Soviet Union in the 1989 Soviet Union legislative election, the first partially free elections in the Soviet Union. Paul Varul
Paul Varul (born 10 December 1952 in Valga) is an Estonian lawyer and politician. He was the Minister of Justice of Estonia from 1995 to 1999. Education Varul studied at the University of Tartu and graduated in 1975. Legislation Varul was involved in drafting all the major legal acts of private law in Estonia (examples include: Law of Property Act, General Part of the Civil Code Act, Family Law Act, Law of Succession Act, Commercial Code, Law of Obligations Act, Bankruptcy Act, Reorganisation Act, Electronic Communications Act etc.).
