Dr. Jeno 'Doc' Tihanyi (; 1936 - March 4, 2007) was a Canadian swim coach inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2004. He was the fourth coach in Canadian History to receive such an honour. He was named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Coach of the Year in 1990 and OWIAA Coach of the Year in 1994. Lajos Tihanyi (29 October 1885 – 11 June 1938) was a Hungarian painter and lithographer who achieved international renown working outside his country, primarily in Paris, France. After emigrating in 1919, he never returned to Hungary, even on a visit. Born in Budapest, as a young man, Tihanyi was part of the "Neoimpressionists" or "Neos", and later the influential ''avant-garde'' group of painters called The Eight (''A Nyolcak''), founded in 1909 in Hungary. They were experimenting with styles of Post-Impressionism and rejected the naturalism of the Nagybánya artists' colony. Their work is considered highly influential in establishing modernism in Hungary to 1918, when the First World War and revolution overtook the country. After the fall of the Hungarian Republic in 1919, Tihanyi left and lived briefly in Vienna. László Tihanyi
László Tihanyi (born 21 March 1956) is a Hungarian composer and conductor. Biography László Tihanyi was born in Budapest, Hungary, on 21 March 1956, and pursued musical studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, where he studied composition with Rezső Sugár and conducting with András Kórodi. Since 1979, Tihanyi serves as a devoted professor at the Academy of Music, where he acted also as vice-rector between 2000 and 2005. He regularly conducts at home and abroad, typically 20th century classical and contemporary programmes. He appeared with all major Hungarian orchestras and significant European contemporary music ensembles, as Ensemble Modern, Contrechamps and MusikFabrik. Peter Tihanyi () is a Hungarian professional wrestler currently signed to Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) where he is a former wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion in his first reign. He is also known for his work in various promotions from the European independent scene. Sándor Tihanyi
Sándor Tihanyi (born 28 April 1963) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Hungary. He was a member of Hungary's national team during the 1980s and 1990s. Career Tihanyi qualified for the 1988 World Final in Vojens, Denmark, where he finished 15th with three points. He was also a reserve for the 1990 World Final at the Odsal Stadium in Bradford, England, but did not ride in the final. His greatest achievement was in 1990, when he teamed up with Zoltán Adorján to secure a first medal at world level for Hungary when they won a bronze at the 1990 Speedway World Pairs Championship in Germany. In 2005, he won his second Hungarian national championship. Tihanyi has been retired from professional racing since 2012.
