Tibi (footballer)
António José de Oliveira Meireles (9 April 1951 – 28 December 2021), known as Tibi, was a Portuguese footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Matosinhos, Porto District, Tibi spent the better part of his 19-year senior career with FC Porto after signing in 1982 from local club Leixões SC. After being first choice for manager Béla Guttmann, he was made surplus to requirements by José Maria Pedroto. During his spell at the Estádio das Antas, Tibi appeared in 131 competitive matches, won two Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and the 1977 Taça de Portugal. International career Tibi won two caps for Portugal over seven years. His debut was on 13 November 1974, in a 3–0 friendly away loss against Switzerland. Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal () is a city and a municipality in the northern Porto district of Portugal, bordered in the south by the city of Porto (8 km from the city centre). Degenerative Disease
Degenerative disease is the result of a continuous process based on degenerative cell changes, affecting tissues or organs, which will increasingly deteriorate over time. In neurodegenerative diseases, cells of the central nervous system stop working or die via neurodegeneration. An example of this is Alzheimer's disease. The other two common groups of degenerative diseases are those that affect circulatory system (e.g. coronary artery disease) and neoplastic diseases (e.g. cancers). Many degenerative diseases exist and some are related to aging. Normal bodily wear or lifestyle choices (such as exercise or eating habits) may worsen degenerative diseases, but this depends on the disease. Sometimes the main or partial cause behind such diseases is genetic. Thus some are clearly hereditary like Huntington's disease. Sometimes the cause is viruses, poisons or other chemicals.
