Most of the games kick off at 8:15 Eastern Time (8:20 prior to 2022 and 8:25 prior to 2018). In the past, games in the package also aired occasionally on Saturdays in the later portion of the season, as well as select games from the NFL International Series (since 2017, these games have been branded as '' NFL Network Specials''). Simulcast
Simulcast (a portmanteau of "simultaneous broadcast") is the broadcasting of programs or events across more than one resolution, bitrate or medium, or more than one service on the same medium, at exactly the same time (that is, simultaneously). For example, Absolute Radio is simulcast on both AM and on satellite radio. Likewise, the BBC's Prom concerts were formerly simulcast on both BBC Radio 3 and BBC Television. Another application is the transmission of the original-language soundtrack of movies or TV series over local or Internet radio, with the television broadcast having been dubbed into a local language. Yet another is when a sports game, such as Super Bowl LVIII, is simulcast on multiple television networks at the same time. In the case of Super Bowl LVIII, the game's main broadcast channel was CBS, but viewers could watch it on other CBS-owned television channels or streaming services as well; Nickelodeon and Paramount+ showed the English-language broadcast, ... NFL Kickoff Game
NFL Kickoff Game is the name given to the first game of the National Football League (NFL) regular season. A single game is held, preceded by a concert and other ceremonies. This first game of the season is usually scheduled for the Thursday following Labor Day in early September. An exception was made in 2012, when the game was moved to Wednesday to prevent conflicts with the acceptance speech of the Democratic National Convention. Although the Kickoff Game is typically played on Thursday night, the league treats it separately from the '' Thursday Night Football'' games during the rest of the season and as such it has been broadcast in the United States on a different network or streaming service than the one that holds the rights to ''Thursday Night Football.'' NFL Kickoff was introduced for the 2002 season. From 2004 onward, the current Super Bowl champion has hosted the Kickoff Game with a couple of exceptions—in 2013, the defending champion Baltimore Ravens opened on the ... NFL Network Exclusive Game Series
''NFL Network Exclusive Game Series'' (formerly called ''NFL Network Special'') is the branding currently used for broadcasts of National Football League (NFL) games aired by NFL Network. Prior to the 2022 NFL season, the NFL Network Special branding was only used on ''Thursday Night Football'' ''(TNF'') games not played on Thursdays (from 2022 on it is used for all games); as of 2022, this arrangement has included at least one NFL London Game played in a Sunday morning (U.S. time) window, and one or more late-season games on Saturdays. After having briefly used ''Saturday Night Football'' to brand the games (alongside the overall blanket title ''Run to the Playoffs''), from 2008 through 2016 the games were branded as "special editions" of ''Thursday Night Football'' or a variant thereof (such as ''Thursday Night Special''), and later ''NFL Network Special''. The branding ''NFL Christmas Special'' has also been used for Christmas Day games in the ''TNF'' package, some of which ...
