"Thumper" is a single by British rock band Enter Shikari from their 2010 compilation album ''Tribalism''. It was released on 12 February 2010 on iTunes. Music video Directed and animated by Joseph Pierce, the video shows the band performing in black and white. The video also uses a Rotoscoping technique, much like A-ha's ''Take On Me'' video. Enter Shikari
Enter Shikari (stylised as enter: shikari and occasionally as ΣΠΤΣ℞ SΗΦΚ∆℞Φ) are a British rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Dan Weller (born 3 April 1980) is a producer/mixer/writer and guitarist, known for his work in rock and metal. He was born in Liverpool and moved to Hertfordshire at age 6. At 15 he began playing guitar and formed a band with school friends. That band later became SikTh. SikTh In 1999/2000 Weller and school friend Graham Pinney formed SikTh. They recruited singers Mikee W Goodman and Justin Hill, bassist James Leach and drummer Dan 'Loord' Foord. SikTh went on to become one of the UK's most influential Heavy Metal bands releasing 3 EP's and 2 Albums internationally. In 2011 ''The Guardian'' wrote that along with Swedish band Meshuggah, SikTh were the founders of the international Metal phenomenon Djent. "Take On Me" is a song by the Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha. The original version, recorded in 1984 and released in October of that same year, was produced by Tony Mansfield and remixed by John Ratcliff. The 1985 international hit version was produced by Alan Tarney for the group's debut studio album, ''Hunting High and Low'' (1985). Rotoscoping
Rotoscoping is an animation technique that animators use to trace over motion picture footage, frame by frame, to produce realistic action. Originally, animators projected photographed live-action movie images onto a glass panel and traced over the image. This projection equipment is referred to as a rotoscope, developed by Polish-American animator Max Fleischer, and the result is a rotograph. This device was eventually replaced by computers, but the process is still called rotoscoping. In the visual effects industry, ''rotoscoping'' is the technique of manually creating a matte for an element on a live-action plate so it may be composited over another background. Destabilise
"Destabilise" is a single by British rock band Enter Shikari, released as an iTunes exclusive download on 26 October 2010 and as a limited coloured 7" vinyl on 29 November 2010 in the UK and Europe. The track was recorded in the summer of 2010 to be released as a "one off single". After recording the track, the band went on to numerous tours including Warped Tour and a tour of Australia. After Warped Tour, the band recorded the music video for the track before their Australian tour. The band performed the track at multiple festivals and UK Shows including the Reading and Leeds Festivals and at their Preston show, both of which they posted on their YouTube channel. On 21 October 2010 the band announced the release date for the single on their website and that there would be a limited 7" Vinyl featuring the track and live favourite Motherstep/Mothership recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo in February. Tribalism (album)
''Tribalism'' is the second compilation album by British rock band Enter Shikari, released on 22 February 2010. The album contains two brand new tracks, b-sides, remixes and live tracks. A limited edition version of the album was released in a boxset package also containing a sticker, poster and badges. Only 1,000 of this edition were made. History Songs on the compilation were recorded between 2007 and 2009. The first single "Thumper" was released on 12 February 2010. The video for "Thumper" shows the band in black-and-white and ending up looking cartoon-esque, not unlike A-Ha's " Take On Me", although the band members' faces are distorted, with wide mouths, pointed noses and sunken eyes.
