Smoke Fairies (Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies) are a British band hailing from Chichester. History Blamire and Davies met at school in Sussex during the late 1990s. They spent 2002 in New Orleans, where they absorbed American blues music. When they returned to England they discovered British folk music at the Sidmouth Folk Week Festival while working as car park attendants. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". V2 Records (or V2 Music; V2 being an abbreviation for Virgin 2) is a record label that was purchased by Universal Music Group in 2007 and sold to IASin 2013. In the Benelux, V2 operates separately from PIAS, as the label bought itself out from Universal in 2007. History The label was founded in 1996 by Richard Branson, five years after he sold Virgin Records to EMI. Kristofer Harris is an English record producer, mixer and writer. He is most noted for his work with Belle and Sebastian, Ghostpoet, Smoke Fairies, Clock Opera and Bear's Den. Biography Kristofer Harris grew up in Kent, United Kingdom, and began his musical career playing in his own bands Tourist and Story Books and also contributed as session musician on tours with Laura Marling, Smoke Fairies and Sea of Bees. In 2017 Harris mixed a series of singles for Scottish band Belle and Sebastian released in early 2018 on Matador Records.
