Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (TRMC; formerly known as Three Rivers Community Hospital, TRCH) is a 125-bed general acute care hospital located in Grants Pass, Oregon, Grants Pass in the U.S. state of Oregon. TRMC was built as a merger between two hospitals, Josephine Memorial (General) Hospital and Southern Oregon Medical Center in 2001. History Three Rivers Medical Center opened in June 2001 on a campus. Originally a 98-bed hospital, the facility cost $52 million to build and was designed with an open floor plan. It was the first hospital in the state designated "Baby-Friendly". In 2002, the hospital partnered with Oregon Health & Science University to place young surgeons in rural hospitals. Grants Pass is the county seat of Josephine County, Oregon, United States. The city is located on Interstate 5, northwest of Medford, along the Rogue River. The population was 39,189 at the 2020 census. History Early Hudson's Bay Company hunters and trappers, following the Siskiyou Trail, passed through the site beginning in the 1820s. In the late 1840s, settlers (mostly American) following the Applegate Trail began traveling through the area on their way to the Willamette Valley. The city states that the name was selected to honor General Ulysses S. Grant's success at Vicksburg. The Grants Pass post office was established on March 22, 1865. The ''Mail Tribune'' is a seven-day daily newspaper based in Medford, Oregon, United States that serves Jackson County, Oregon, and adjacent areas of Josephine County, Oregon and northern California.
