''Three Days Grace'' is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace, released on July 22, 2003, through Jive Records. It was the band's only album as a trio, and also under Bertelsmann Music Group. Background and writing Prior to being named Three Days Grace, the band was known as Groundswell. Three Days Grace garnered the attention of many record labels after the release of their demo, largely due to the song, " I Hate Everything About You". Eventually, Three Days Grace signed with Jive and began recording their debut album in Massachusetts. The single "I Hate Everything About You" was released in promotion for the album. According to drummer Neil Sanderson, the album's material comes from the "crazy things" the group had seen growing up. Singer Adam Gontier stated, "I don't find it easy to write about happy shit. Three Days Grace
Three Days Grace is a Canadian Rock music, rock band formed in Asphodel–Norwood, Norwood, Ontario, in 1992 originally as Groundswell. Groundswell played in various local Norwood backyard parties and area establishments before disbanding in 1995 and regrouping in 1997 under its current name. Based in Toronto, the band's original line-up consisted of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist, making them a quartet. In 2013, Gontier left the band and was replaced by Walst's younger brother Matt Walst, Matt, who was a longtime songwriter for the band and was previously the lead singer of My Darkest Days. "Just Like You" is a song by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. It was released on March 29, 2004, as the second single from their debut studio album. The song became their first number-one hit on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts in August 2004. Despite peaking at number one on both charts, it still did not capture the popularity and pop radio success of their prior single, "I Hate Everything About You", which had peaked at numbers two and number four, respectively, but overall having more airplay on mainstream rock, active rock, and modern rock radio stations than "Just Like You". Barry Stock
Barry James Stock (born April 24, 1974) is a Canadian musician. He is the lead guitarist of the Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. Early life Stock was born in Belgium and was raised in Norwood, Ontario. At a young age, Stock was introduced to bands such as Black Sabbath, Van Halen and AC/DC. Stock grew up as a self taught guitarist and he originally played drums first. He bought his first guitar when he was 13 which was a Raven Telecaster copy. He would spend time in his room playing music before playing in bands and as he got older, started focusing more on songwriting. Trapt is an American rock band formed in Los Gatos, California. Adam Wade Gontier (born May 25, 1978) is a Canadian rock musician. He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter for Saint Asonia, but is best known as the co-lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of the rock band Three Days Grace. He co-founded the band in 1992, recording four albums with them before parting ways in 2013 (not counting two guest appearances on stage with the band in 2023) and eventually returning in 2024. Neil Christopher Sanderson (December 17, 1978) is a Canadian musician. He is the drummer, backing vocalist, keyboardist, and co-founder of the Canadian rock band Three Days Grace.
