''Thor: Ragnarok'' is a 2017 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor (Marvel Comics), Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to ''Thor (film), Thor'' (2011) and ''Thor: The Dark World'' (2013), and is List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Taika Waititi
Taika David Cohen (born 16 August 1975), known professionally as Taika Waititi ( ), is a New Zealand filmmaker, actor, and comedian. Known for quirky comedy films and expanding his career as a voice actor and producer on numerous projects, he has received many accolades including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award and a Grammy Award. ''Time (magazine), Time'' magazine named him one of the Time 100, 100 most influential people in the world in 2022. His feature films ''Boy (2010 film), Boy'' (2010) and ''Hunt for the Wilderpeople'' (2016) have each been the top-grossing New Zealand film. Waititi's 2003 short film ''Two Cars, One Night'' earned him an Academy Award nomination for Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film, Best Live Action Short Film.
