Thonon Black Panthers
The Black Panthers of Thonon is a French American football club based in Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie) and founded in 1987 by Benoît Sirouet, Nicolas Schpoliansky and Frederic Mériguet. Jérôme Garnier quickly joined the three founding members and became the first President of the Club. The first Head Coach of the team was called Jolly Bruno, former player of Blue Angels of Joinville le Pont. Now chaired by Benoît Sirouet, the club has led since 2017 by Fabien Ducousso also known as Coach Hippo. Thonon-les-Bains (; frp, Tonon), often simply referred to as Thonon, is a subprefecture of the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Eastern France. In 2018, the commune had a population of 35,241. Thonon-les-Bains is part of a transborder metropolitan area known as Grand Genève. The EFAF Cup was an international competition for European American Football clubs. It was the second highest level of club competition in the European Federation of American Football (EFAF), behind the European Football League (EFL),. EFAF Cup Organised by EFAF, this competition was comparable to football's Europa League. American Football teams from the strongest leagues in Europe competed annually to achieve results good enough to qualify them for the EFAF Cup competition. The format dated from 2002 and offers top-division European clubs who have not qualified for the highest level of competition ( EFL) a chance to play internationally. Larry Legault (born in Canada) has coached American football in France for several years. He has a leadership of the Thonon Black Panthers since 2005. Today, he is a technical director of the team and is also the coach of France National Team. He was previously head coach of the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes from 1990-1993.
