Thomas Seery
Thomas Seery (born February 19, 1945) is a lawyer and former member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Background Seery was born on February 19, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary, and in 1971 earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from St. Francis Seminary. He worked as field director for the Citizens Utility Board of Wisconsin and as a Senior Citizen Advocate for the Family Service Association. Career Seery was first elected to the Assembly in 1982 from the 7th Assembly district, which included the northwest corner of Milwaukee, which is also the northwest corner of Milwaukee County. Wisconsin State Senate
The Wisconsin Senate is the upper house of the Wisconsin State Legislature. Together with the larger Wisconsin State Assembly they constitute the legislative branch of the state of Wisconsin. The powers of the Wisconsin Senate are modeled after those of the U.S. Senate. The Wisconsin Constitution ties the size of the State Senate to that of the Assembly, by limiting its size to no less than 1/4, nor more than 1/3, of the size of the Assembly. Currently, Wisconsin is divided into 33 Senate Districts (1/3 of the current Assembly membership of 99) apportioned throughout the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 33 senators. The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election.
