Thomas Reiser
Thomas Reiser (born 1979 in Bayreuth, Germany) is a German philologist and translator. His contributions range from Baroque alchemy to comedies and art technological treatises of classical antiquity as well as of the Italian Renaissance. In 2014 he saw to the first German translation of Francesco Colonna’s ''Hypnerotomachia Poliphili''. Life and career Thomas Reiser studied German Medieval Literature, Italian and Latin at the universities of Munich and Heidelberg_ University, Heidelberg. There he also obtained his doctoral degree in 2009 with the edition, translation and commentary of the mytho-alchemical didactic epic ''Chryseidos Libri IIII'' by the physician and Alchemy, alchemist Johannes Nicolaus Furichius, Johannes Nicolaus Furichius (1602–1633) from Strasbourg. He then held postdoctoral scholarships at the Palazzo Barbarigo della Terrazza, Centre Tedesco di Studi Veneziani in Venice and 2010 at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich. Bayreuth
Bayreuth ( or ; High Franconian German, Upper Franconian: Bareid, ) is a Town#Germany, town in northern Bavaria, Germany, on the Red Main river in a valley between the Franconian Jura and the Fichtel Mountains. The town's roots date back to 1194. In the 21st century, it is the capital of Upper Franconia and has a population of 72,148 (2015). The Palazzo Barbarigo dalla Terrazza is a Venetian Renaissance architecture, Renaissance-style palace on the Canal Grande of Venice, Grand Canal, across the Rio San Polo from the Palazzo Cappello Layard and adjacent to the Palazzo Pisani Moretta in the sestiere of San Polo, in Venice, Italy. In 2015, it housed the ''Centro Tedesco di Studi Veneziani''. History The patrician Daniele Barbarigo family, Barbarigo commissioned the palace from the architect Bernardin Contin, and construction took place during 1566–1570.
