Thomas Heathcote
Thomas Heathcote (9 September 1917 – 5 January 1986) was a British character actor, a former protégé of Laurence Olivier. He was educated at Bradfield College in Bradfield, near Reading in Berkshire, England. His films included '' A Night to Remember'' (1958), '' Village of the Damned'' (1960), ''Billy Budd'' (1962), '' A Man for All Seasons'' (1966), ''Night of the Big Heat'' (1967) and ''Quatermass and the Pit'' (1967). On television he had notable guest roles in ''Dixon of Dock Green'', ''The Prisoner'', ''Z-Cars'', ''The Onedin Line'' and '' Crossroads''. Heathcote was also a regular actor in BBC radio drama, notably in several series of Paul Temple. Shimla (; ; also known as Simla, List of renamed Indian cities and states#Himachal Pradesh, the official name until 1972) is the capital and the largest city of the States and union territories of India, northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of British Raj, British India. ''Dixon of Dock Green'' was a BBC police procedural television series about daily life at a fictional London police station, with the emphasis on petty crime, successfully controlled through common sense and human understanding. It ran from 1955 to 1976. The central character, George Dixon, first appeared in the film '' The Blue Lamp''. Dixon is a mature and sympathetic police constable, played by Jack Warner in all of the 432 episodes. Dixon is the embodiment of a typical "bobby" who would be familiar with the area in which he patrolled and its residents and often lived there himself.
