Thomas Hansen (born 18 January 1983) is a retired Danish footballer. He was a defender, who was used as a central defender as well as right back. Career Hansen played his youth football in Hvidovre IF and moved to Brøndby IF Brøndbyernes Idrætsforening (, usually abbreviated to Brøndby IF (), is a professional association football club based in Brøndbyvester, Capital Region of Denmark. The club was founded in 1964 as a merger between two local clubs and was pr ... in 2003. He did not play regularly, and in his search for regular first team action he started looking elsewhere. He moved to AGF as of 1 January 2006 on a contract for 3 years. The contract was signed already in mid-2005, but the move was agreed to 2006 making him available on a free transfer. Hansen quickly settled in central defence, but in 2007 he lost his regular position. As of 1 February he had played 24 matches and scored 0 goals. They have a football team ( SønderjyskE Fodbold, based in Haderslev), two handball teams ( SønderjyskE Håndbold, one male based in Sønderborg, one female based in Aabenraa) and an ice hockey team ( SønderjyskE Ishockey, based in Vojens). Hvidovre is the main town in Hvidovre Municipality, Denmark. The town, a suburb of Copenhagen, is about 10 km southwest of the capital's center. It is the 2nd biggest suburb of Copenhagen, only beaten by Frederiksberg. History Hvidovre has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In 1929, a 3,500-year-old sword from the Bronze Age was excavated in Hvidovre.
