Thomas Gustafsson
Thomas Gustafsson (born 25 February 1968), known professionally as Thomas G:son, is a Swedish composer and musician born in Skövde, Västergötland. He is best known for the 112 songs he has written for the national selections of 12 countries for the Eurovision Song Contest: 74 for Sweden, 11 for Spain, six for Norway, five for Denmark and Finland, three for Georgia, two each for Poland and Malta, and one each for Cyprus, Latvia, Romania and Belgium. He will reach the milestone of 70 entries at Melodifestivalen at the 2024 edition. His songs have also reached the Eurovision Song Contest 15 times, four times for Sweden, three times each for Spain and Georgia, twice for Cyprus and once each for Norway, Denmark and Malta. Skövde
Skövde () is a locality and urban centre in Skövde Municipality and Västra Götaland County, in the Västergötland (Western Gothland region) in central Southern Sweden. Skövde is situated some 150 km northeast of Gothenburg, between Sweden's two largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern. Invincible (Carola Häggkvist Song)
"Invincible" is the name of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest entry for , sung by Carola Häggkvist. Being one of the favourites to win, it ended up finishing 5th out of 24. Carola performed the song in the Swedish national final in the Swedish language, under the name "Evighet" ("Eternity"). It scored 2nd place by the judges, but was a runaway winner by public votes, therefore booking Carola a place in Athens, where Eurovision was to be held. In the singles chart, the Swedish-language version peaked at #1 in Sweden and #8 in Norway, and the English-language version peaked at #29 in Sweden. The Swedish-language version also entered Svensktoppen on 30 April 2006 and reached 5th place, where it stayed for the two following weeks. Friends (group)
Friends was a Swedish '' dansband'' or pop group formed in 1999 and made up of Stefan Brunzell, Tony Haglund, Kristian Hermanson, Nina Inhammar, Kim Kärnfalk and Peter Strandberg. They were put together from auditions on the reality television show ''Friends på turne'' (''Friends on Tour''), made by Bert Karlsson for TV4. The show was a success and Friends competed on Melodifestivalen 2000, reaching second place. Masquerade (Swedish Band)
Masquerade are a Swedish rock band established in 1988. They released their debut album in 1992 and have since released four further albums. History During their first two years, the band concentrated on writing music, rehearsing and performing live. In 1990, Masquerade recorded a promotional cassette and a single that was favorably reviewed in the English magazine ''Metal Hammer''. After signing on with Empire Records, in early 1991 the band started recording their self-titled album. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Melodifestivalen 2024
2024 is the 64th edition of the Swedish music competition , which is being organised by (SVT) and taking place over a six-week period between 3 February and 9 March 2024, hosted by Carina Berg. The winner of the competition will go on to represent in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, held on home soil in Malmö. Format 2024 sees six weekly shows held in six Swedish cities (namely Malmö, Gothenburg, Växjö, Eskilstuna, Karlstad and Stockholm). Carina Berg was announced as the presenter of the competition on 12 January 2023. Changes to the format were announced on 29 June 2023. A total of 30 entries are taking part in the competition (two more than in previous editions) across five heats.
