Shakey The Robot
Shakey the Robot was the first general-purpose mobile robot able to reason about its own actions. While other robots would have to be instructed on each individual step of completing a larger task, Shakey could analyze commands and break them down into basic chunks by itself. Due to its nature, the project combined research in robotics, computer vision, and natural language processing. Because of this, it was the first project that melded logical reasoning and physical action. Shakey was developed at the Artificial Intelligence Center of Stanford Research Institute (now called SRI International). Some of the most notable results of the project include the A* search algorithm, the Hough transform, and the visibility graph method. Jaybird–Woodpecker War
The Jaybird–Woodpecker War (1888–89) was a feud between two Democratic Party (United States), United States Democratic Party factions fighting for political control of Fort Bend County, Texas, in the southeast part of the state. The Jay Bird Democratic Association was an all-White political organization formed in 1887 by young men to challenge and regain control of the county government from the biracial coalition of former White and Black Republicans (the Woodpeckers) who had dominated the county Democratic party and county government since 1869. Murders and political assassinations were committed against persons in each faction in 1888 and 1889. The Jaybird-Woodpecker War ended when the Jaybirds defeated the Black-supported Woodpeckers in a battle in Richmond, Texas, the county seat of Fort Bend County, in August 1889. LXM Pro Tour, or LXM Pro, was a California-based professional men's field lacrosse showcase that featured many of the sport's most accomplished players. LXM Pro Tour was founded by former college lacrosse and Major League Lacrosse players, notably former Johns Hopkins star Kyle Harrison The tour competed for the top collegiate and professional players with the more established MLL. LXM Pro and MLL announced a partnership in 2014, with the LXM Pro Tour moving their events to the MLL off-season and in new markets. However, LXM Pro didn't hold any tour stops after the announcement. Stuart Randall (born Clarence W Maxwell, July 24, 1909 – June 22, 1988) was an American band leader, singer, live theater actor, and actor of film and television who appeared on screen between 1950 and 1971.
