Thomas Fennell (politician)
Thomas Scott Fennell (9 January 1928 – 27 January 2012) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was an insurance executive and businessman by career. He was elected to the Ontario in 1979 and re-elected there in the 1980 and 1984 elections. Fennell left national politics in 1988 and did not campaign in that year's election, having served in the 31st, 32nd and 33rd Canadian Parliaments. According to his obituary in the Globe and Mail ''The Globe and Mail'' is a Canadian newspaper printed in five cities in western and central Canada. With a weekly readership of more than 6 million in 2024, it is Canada's most widely read newspaper on weekdays and Saturdays, although it fall ... Thomas McCarthy Fennell
Thomas McCarthy Fennell (22 December 184123 February 1914) was a Fenian political prisoner transported as a convict to colonial Western Australia. Born in County Clare, Ireland in 1841, Fennell was just four years old when the Great Famine struck. Nonetheless he received a good education, attending either a Catholic school or a national school, and he learned to speak Irish at home. Fenians In 1863, Fennell became one of the first Fenians recruited from County Clare; he then helped recruit and organize a group of men in preparation for the Fenian Rising. On 5 March 1867, six Fenians men entered the Kilbaha coastguard station, and demanded the station's arms "in the name of the Irish Republic". A scuffle ensued, and Fennell was shot through the hip and testicle. The group retreated, and Fennell was treated for his injuries. He was arrested three days later. Tom Fennell
Thomas Francis Fennell (May 25, 1875 – November 4, 1936) was an American college football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Cincinnati in 1897 and at Pennsylvania State University from 1904 to 1908, compiling a career coaching record of 42–18–2. Fennell played football at Cornell University, where he is a member of their Athletic Hall of Fame. Fennell was the son of Thomas McCarthy Fennell. He graduated from Cornell Law School, and was admitted to the bar.
