Tom Nicholson Pearce Dougherty (2 March 1902 – 14 October 1972), was an Australian trade union official and a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council. As National Secretary of the Australian Workers Union (AWU) from 1944 to 1972, he was one of the most powerful figures in the Australian labor movement and the Labor Party. Biography Dougherty was born in Bollon, Queensland, the son of a telegraph linesman and a schoolteacher. He left school at 13 and worked in a variety of manual jobs in Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian territory of Papua New Guinea. In 1924 he married Ruby McArthur: they had three children. After his wife's death he married again, in 1951, and again in 1959. In 1932 Dougherty became an organiser for the AWU in Mackay, Queensland. He became the union's northern district secretary in 1938 and Queensland branch president in 1943. The Elms (band)
The Elms were an American rock and roll band known for their breed of rootsy, blues-based rock, with the essence of the music of the 60s and 70s. Although the band had been in existence since 2000, 2001 saw the release of their first full-length album, with the first musical contribution from Thomas Daugherty on guitar. Thus, 2001 is widely considered the bands' first fully functional year in existence. Some members reside in the southern Indiana city of Seymour, Indiana. They have drawn stylistic comparisons to The Black Crowes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Kinks, and The Beatles. They released their major-label debut album, ''The Chess Hotel'', on May 2, 2006. The band's final album, '' The Great American Midrange'', was released on September 15, 2009. It peaked at No. 18 on the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers chart and was the Elms' highest-charting album to date. Tom Daugherty
Tom Daugherty (born February 22, 1975) is a right-handed American professional ten-pin bowler residing in Riverview, Florida. He is a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), having joined in 2001. He is one of a very few PBA bowlers to successfully use the one-handed no-thumb delivery, although he uses his thumb for most spares. While Daugherty has won four PBA Tour titles (including one major) and 23 PBA Regional titles, he is perhaps best known for rolling a nationally-televised 100 game at the 2011 PBA Tournament of Champions, the lowest score ever bowled in a televised PBA event. Nicknamed "Rebel" and "Tampa Tom", Daugherty has accumulated 21 career 300 games in PBA events. He is a pro staff member for Hammer bowling balls, Dexter shoes, and Turbo Inserts. Tom Docherty (15 April 1924 – 28 December 2020) was an English professional footballer. A winger, he joined Newport County in 1955 from Reading and went on to make 108 appearances for Newport, scoring one goal. In 1958 he joined King's Lynn. He died in December 2020 at the age of 96.
