Thirparappu Waterfalls
Thirparappu Waterfalls is located near Kulasekharam town in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu state, India. The Kodayar River makes its descent at Thiruparappu. The waterfalls is about from Pechiparai Dam. It is just a 15 min drive from the waterfalls. The riverbed is rocky and about in length. Other popular waterfalls in Kanyakumari District are Ullakaarvi falls, Vattaparai Falls and Kalikesam falls. All these falls are located in the Western Ghats. Thirparappu is a town located in the Kanyakumari District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a popular tourist destination. It is located from the nearby town Arumanai, from Kulasekaram, from Nagercoil, headquarters of the Kanyakumari District, and from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the Indian state of Kerala. Vattaparai Falls
Vattaparai Falls are located at: , elevation , in the Keeriparai reserve forest near Bhoothapandi village (Pin:629852) (Met Sta #10145) on the Pazhayar River in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu state, South India. It is N of Nagercoil) and NW of Kanyakumari (town), Kanyakumari. This area is proposed to be a Wildlife sanctuaries of India, Wildlife Sanctuary. There are a few small waterfalls in this area - the nicer ones being Vattaparai Falls and Kalikesam falls. There is a small Kali temple, next to the falls. Ulakkai Aruvi Falls (also referred to as Rod Falls) is a waterfall in the Western Ghats. It lies in the Asambu Reserve Forest region, in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, India. Geography Ulakkai Aruvi Falls is located near Azhagiapandiapuram, which is about from Kanyakumari and about from Nagercoil. Situated in the forested hills of the Western Ghats, the falls can be reached by an hour-long trek from the base of the hills through a rocky, forested area. Pechiparai Dam
Pechiparai Reservoir is the largest dam in Kanyakumari district. It is located in the foothills of the Western Ghats in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu at Pachiparai. It is located 43 kilometers (27 mi) from the district capital Nagercoil. This dam is built across the Kotai river. This dam was built during the period 1897-1906 by the European engineer Mr. Minchin by the then Maharaja of Travancore during the Thirunal period. This dam fulfills the agricultural and drinking water needs of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli district. The height of this dam was originally 42 feet, then in 1964 it was decided to add 6 more feet and in 1969 the height of the dam was 48 feet.
