Thirdmoon
Thirdmoon are a melodic black metal and death metal band from Austria. Biography Founded by Wolfgang Rothbauer in 1994, it was a few years before their debut ''Grotesque Autumnal Weepings'' in 1997. Later, in 1998, they gained French guitarist Matias Larrede and in 1999 they signed with Napalm Records. With Napalm Records they released ''Aquis Submersus'' (1999) and ''Bloodforsaken'' (2000). Then they went on tour with Eisregen. In 2001 Thirdmoon split with Napalm Records and it was three years before their next release, ''Sworn Enemy: Heaven''. Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Napalm Records is an Austrian independent record label focused on heavy metal, hard rock and folk/folk rock/folk metal. Eisregen
Eisregen is a German Gothic metal, Gothic/death metal/black metal band formed in 1995. The members are from Tambach-Dietharz, a village in Thuringia. Four of the band's albums are banned in Germany, with different restriction levels. History In English, Eisregen translates to "ice rain". The band received scrutiny from the German authorities due to their morbid lyrics, causing three of their albums to be banned in Germany by the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons. Eisregen originally planned to disband after releasing a final album called ''Menschenmaterial'' (in direct translation means "human resources", a dehumanizing reference towards humans being "spendable" like mineral or natural resources), but announced that they will continue to work together. Grave is a Swedish death metal band that was formed in 1988 by vocalist and guitarist Ola Lindgren who is their only constant member. The band had particular success in the early 1990s, and their first four albums, ''Into the Grave'', ''You'll Never See...'', ''Soulless (album), Soulless'' and ''Hating Life'', cemented their reputation as one of Sweden's foremost death metal bands.
