Thierry Malet
Thierry Malet, is a French composer of film music. He is also the designer of the very first MIDI controller, MIDI guitars and a new 3D spatialization system for feature film music. Life and career Thierry Malet started to study the piano at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire de Paris, Conservatoire of Paris with the pianist and concertist Marie-Claire Laroche, where he took courses in harmony and composition. But it was to be a further ten years before he discovered his true passion at Claude Bolling's school, writing film scores. In order to gain a fuller understanding of musical acoustics, he went to study acoustics at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers, Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. Luminescence
Luminescence is spontaneous emission of light by a substance not resulting from heat; or "cold light". It is thus a form of cold-body radiation. Claude Allègre (; born 31 March 1937) is a French politician and scientist. Scientific work The main scientific area of Claude Allègre was geochemistry. Allègre co-authored an ''Introduction to geochemistry'' in 1974. Since the 1980s, he mainly publishes popular science and political books. In 1976, Allègre and volcanologist Haroun Tazieff started an intense and very public quarrel about whether inhabitants should evacuate the surroundings of the erupting '' la Soufrière'' volcano in Guadeloupe. Allègre, who was speaking outside his area of immediate expertise, held that inhabitants should be evacuated, while Tazieff held that the Soufrière was harmless because all analyses pointed to a purely phreatic eruption with no sign of fresh magma. In part out of caution, the authorities decided to follow Allègre's advice and evacuate. Haroun Tazieff
Haroun Tazieff (Warsaw, 11 May 1914 – Paris, 2 February 1998) was a Tatar, Belgian and French volcanologist and geologist. He was a famous cinematographer of volcanic eruptions and lava flows, and the author of several books on volcanoes. He was also a government adviser and French cabinet minister. He also served in the Belgian resistance during world war 2. Early life His parents met and married in 1906 while they were both students in Brussels. They later returned to Warsaw, Russian Partition, where their first son, Salvator, died at two months and where Haroun was born. His father, Sabir, was a Muslim medical doctor, of Tatar descent and his mother, Zenita Iliyasovna Klupta, was a Tatar chemist and doctor of natural science and holder of a bachelor's degree in political science.
