Thierry Lancino
Thierry Lancino (born 27 March 1954) is a French composer. Thierry Lancino was born in Civray, Vienne. He was appointed Pensionnaire of the French Academy in Rome (1988–90) at the Villa Medici. During that time he wrote his often-performed music theater work. Lancino was on the artistic staff at the IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique) for seven years. Composer
A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music. Etymology and definition The term is descended from Latin, ''compōnō''; literally "one who puts together". The earliest use of the term in a musical context given by the ''Oxford English Dictionary'' is from Thomas Morley's 1597 ''A Plain and Easy Introduction to Practical Music'', where he says "Some wil be good descanters ..and yet wil be but bad composers". ''Ship of Fools'' (Modern German: ; ; original medieval German title: ) is a satirical allegory in German verse published in 1494 in Basel, Switzerland, by the humanist and theologian Sebastian Brant. It is the most famous treatment of the ship of fools trope and circulated in numerous translations. Overview The ''Ship of Fools'' was published in 1494 in Basel, Switzerland, by Sebastian Brant. It was printed by Michael Furter for Johann Bergann von Olpe. The book consists of a prologue, 112 brief satires, and an epilogue, all illustrated with woodcuts. Brant takes up the ship of fools trope, popular at the time, lashing with unsparing vigor the weaknesses and vices of his time. He conceives Saint Grobian, whom he imagines to be the patron saint of vulgar and coarse people. Angelin Preljocaj (; born 19 January 1957) is a French dancer and choreographer of contemporary dance. Early life Angelin Preljocaj was born in 1957 in Sucy-en-Brie, France. He is of Albanians, Albanian descent. His father was born in Vermosh but was escaped from Albania because of the communism while his mother was from Ulcinj.They together went to France where Angelin was born. Career His choreographic work is steeped in his writing of the history of classical ballet, but is resolutely contemporary. The "Salve Regina" ( , ; meaning "Hail Queen"), also known as the "Hail Holy Queen", is a Marian hymn and one of four Marian antiphons sung at different seasons within the Christian liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church.
