The album peaked at number 42 on Billboard Top Heatseekers chart in October 1997. "Friend" is a cover of a song by Marginal Man, a Washington D.C. Dischord Records punk band from the 1980s. H2O is an American hardcore punk band formed in New York City in 1994. History Formation and the Epitaph years (1994–2000) While touring as a roadie for Sick of It All, Toby Morse would sometimes sing with the band during encores. In late 1994 Morse decided to start his own band and formed H2O on the Lower East Side of Manhattan with Rusty Pistachio and Eric Rice. The band included his brother, Todd Morse, and Todd Friend, both formerly members of Outcrowd, who had released the albums ''New Music Solution'' (1988), ''Weathered'' (1992) and ''Healer'' (1994). Melodic Hardcore
Melodic hardcore is a broadly defined subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work. The style often includes guitar harmonies, riffs using octave chords, as well as broken chords. Additionally, lyrics tend towards intellectualism, often being politically conscious or narrative, with concept albums sometimes being prominent. Bands in the genre also have a tendency to take influence from a range of genres including emo, post-punk, screamo, pop-punk, metalcore, post-rock and gothic rock. It was first released in Japan in 1998 under the name , then was licensed by Electronic Arts for distribution in 1999. It was re-released later in Japan as part of the Simple 1500 series of budget games under the name ''The Skateboard''. It was released on the PlayStation 3 in Europe as a download via the PlayStation Store in May 2008. Gameplay Players attempt to clear each track by scoring a minimum number of points within a set time limit. CIV (band)
CIV was an American punk rock band from New York City. The band is named after its vocalist, Anthony Civarelli. Three of the band's members (Civarelli, Siegler and Smilios) were members of Gorilla Biscuits. Siegler also played in other hardcore bands, including Youth of Today and Judge (band), Judge. After the break-up of Gorilla Biscuits, Civarelli opened a tattoo studio on Long Island. After the band Quicksand (band), Quicksand had signed to a major label, Schreifels re-united a late version of his former band, wrote a record and produced it, resulting in ''Set Your Goals (album), Set Your Goals''. Smilios was replaced by Cache Tolman prior to the recording of their second full-length album, ''Thirteen Day Getaway''. Shortly after releasing ''Thirteen Day Getaway'', CIV disbanded in 2000.
