Theyazin Bin Haitham
Sayyid#Oman, Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said (; born 21 August 1990) is the Crown Prince of Oman and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth. Early life Theyazin is the eldest son of Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and Ahad bint Abdullah, Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah. He has one younger brother and two sisters. His paternal uncle, Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq, is the Deputy Prime Minister of Oman, Deputy Prime Minister for Relations and International Cooperation Affairs, and another paternal uncle, Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq, is the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs. The former Sultan, Qaboos bin Said, was his father's cousin. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Oxford and a master's degree in history from Oxford Brookes University. The House of Al Bu Said (, ), is the current ruling royal family of Oman, and former ruling house of the Omani Empire (1744–1856), Muscat and Oman, Sultanate of Muscat and Oman (1856–1970) and the Sultanate of Zanzibar (1856–1964). Oxford Brookes University (OBU; formerly known as Oxford Polytechnic) is a public university, public university in Oxford, England. The succession to the Omani throne constitutes the inheritance of the throne of the Sultanate of Oman. Succession rules The succession is governed by the Basic Statute of Oman, and is restricted to male descendants of Sultan Turki bin Said, who must be Muslim, "rational" and the legitimate son of Omani Muslim parents. Until January 2021, the succession was by selection among the eligible male descendants of Turki bin Said.
