They Said
''They Said'' (他们说) is the fourth solo album by Chinese singer and actress Han Xue, also known as Cecilia Han, released on 15 August 2012 by Gold Typhoon. Han Xue spent over five years working on the album, her first release since ''A Journey Into Fantasy'' in 2007, written and produced with the intent of shedding her "girl next door" image. "Ephemera" won the 20th Annual Top Chinese Music Awards for best song. Writing and recording Han Xue wrote the lyrics for nine of the eleven songs. Albert Leung and Francis Lee contributed additional lyrics. In talking about the change in style of the album and the writing of her songs, she said she "did not want to be a flower that is cared for and has the courage to create her own ideals". Han Xue (actress)
Han Xue (born 11 January 1983), also known as Cecilia Han, is a Chinese singer and actress of Miao ethnicity. Han is noted for her roles as Baigujing and Diaochan in the television series ''Journey to the West'' and ''Cao Cao'' respectively. Early life and education Han was born in a military family in Suzhou, Jiangsu, her grandfather Han Shu was a general of the People's Liberation Army, he participated in the Second Sino-Japanese War and Korean War. Her grandmother was once the leading lady in the Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval Song and Dance Troupe, her aunt Han Mei is a noted musician in Canada. At the age of 6, Han studied singing with the Suzhou City Choir. Her secondary education was at Suzhou No.1 Middle School. Han graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy. Mandopop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; later influences came from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the campus folk song folk movement of the 1970s. "Mandopop" may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after " Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. Albert Leung
Albert Leung Wai Man (, born 7 December 1961), better known by his pen name Lin Xi (), is a Hong Kong lyricist and writer. A prominent figure in Cantopop and Mandopop, he has written lyrics for nearly all major Hong Kong singers, with notable collaborations with Leslie Cheung, Faye Wong, Eason Chan, and Miriam Yeung.
