Richard Ashcroft
Richard Paul Ashcroft (born 11 September 1971) is an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer and occasional rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band The Verve from their formation in 1990 until their original split in 1999. Songs he wrote for the band include " Bitter Sweet Symphony", "Lucky Man", and the UK number one " The Drugs Don't Work". He became a successful solo artist, releasing three UK top three solo albums. The Verve reformed in 2007 but again broke up by summer 2009. Ashcroft then founded a new band, RPA & The United Nations of Sound, and released a new album on 19 July 2010. Ashcroft released his fourth solo album, ''These People'', on 20 May 2016. Mirwais Ahmadzaï (born 23 October 1960), known mononymously as Mirwais, is a French electronic dance music record producer and songwriter. Born in Switzerland to an Afghan father and an Italian mother, Ahmadzaï was a member of the defunct 1980s group Taxi Girl. Geoff Dugmore (born 12 April 1960) is a Scottish drummer, musical director and producer. He was a member of the bands The Europeans, and Wildlife. Career Educated at Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow, Scotland, Dugmore started his musical career initially playing guitar. However, he became enamored with the drums upon seeing pictures Ringo Starr playing inside his Beatles records, immediately becoming impressed with the drum set equipment. He eventually traded his guitar equipment with a school friend for a drum set. At the age of 13 he started making demos and sending them to record labels, and also played in cover bands from the age of 16. Chris Potter is a British record producer and mixer, most known for his work as long-term collaborator and producer of The Verve and Richard Ashcroft. Potter started his career at Maison Rouge Studios in London, where he worked his way up through the ranks to chief engineer. After several successful years there, he left to further his career as a freelance producer and mixer. He has worked with many artists of note including The Rolling Stones and U2 and won a Brit Award for 'Best Producer' in 1998 for his work on The Verve's ''Urban Hymns''.
