Theryl DeClouet
Theryl DeClouet (September 17, 1951 – July 15, 2018), also known as House Man, was an American soul/ R&B singer, best known as the one-time lead vocalist of the musical group Galactic. Born in Hollygrove, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, he appeared on Galactic's first four studio albums as well as a live release and a compilation before health concerns forced his departure from the band and its heavy tour schedule. His independent solo release, ''The Truth Iz Out'', featured support from longtime friend Ivan Neville and guitarist June Yamagishi of Papa Grows Funk. He also appeared on Charlie Hunter Quintet's 2001 album, ''Songs from the Analog Playground'', Hunter's first to feature vocals. DeClouet sang on versions of Earth, Wind & Fire's "Mighty Mighty" and the Willie Dixon standard "Spoonful." In 2005, DeClouet also briefly appeared as Judge Locke Randolph in ''The Dukes of Hazzard''. On July 15, 2018, DeClouet died at the age of 66. Solo discography *''Separate Roo ... ''Crazyhorse Mongoose'' is the second studio album by American jam band Galactic. It was released on September 1, 1998 through Capricorn Records. Recording sessions took place at Brilliant Studios in San Francisco on August 18—22, 1997 and at Greyboy Studios in San Diego. Production was handled by Dan Prothero and Galactic themselves. In the United States, the album peaked at number 38 on the Top Jazz Albums and number 24 on the Top Contemporary Jazz Albums charts. Critical reception Scott Iwasaki of the ''Deseret News'' stated that the album "solidified the band's reputation of being a great foot-stomping groove band". Sanctuary Records Group Limited was a record label based in the United Kingdom and is, as of 2013, a subsidiary of BMG Rights Management solely for reissues. Until June 2007, it was the largest independent record label in the UK and the largest music management company in the world. It was also the world's largest independent owner of music intellectual property rights, with over 160,000 songs. History The company was formed in 1979 by Rod Smallwood and Andy Taylor, who met as undergraduates at Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1979, they discovered Iron Maiden in a London pub and went on to manage the group.
