Theodore Manaen
Theodore Manaen (1922-2020) was an Indian politician. He was the 1st Gorkha to be chosen as the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee under Nehru's regime. He was twice elected to the Lok Sabha, lower house of the Parliament of India from Darjeeling (Lok Sabha constituency), Darjeeling, West Bengal; The 1st time as a member of the Gorkha League and the 2nd time as a member of the Indian National Congress. Kurseong
Kurseong (, ) is a town and a municipality in Darjeeling district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Kurseong subdivision. Located at an altitude of , Kurseong is from Darjeeling and has a pleasant climate throughout the year. Kurseong is from Siliguri and is connected to the city by road and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The nearest airport is at Bagdogra and the nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri railway station, New Jalpaiguri, which is about from the town. The economy is based primarily on education and tourism. Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League
Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League ( ABGL) (also called All India Gorkha League (AIGL/IGL)) is a political party working amongst the Nepali-speaking Gorkha population in Darjeeling District and Kalimpong District of West Bengal, India. The party was founded in 1943 by Damber Singh Gurung. ABGL is currently part of an alliance of BJP, GNLF, CPRM and other parties with Pratap Khati as its convenor. ABGL stands for peaceful democracy in the Darjeeling hills. It advocates for a full-fledged state of Gorkhaland.
