Theodor Reichmann
Theodor Reichmann (15 March 1849 – 22 May 1903) was a German operatic baritone. Life Born in Rostock, the son of a lawyer, Albert Reichmann began a commercial apprenticeship in Berlin at his parents' request, but soon devoted himself exclusively to his musical education. He took singing lessons with Johann Elssler, Eduard Mantius and Johann Reß. Reichmann made his debut at the Stadttheater Magdeburg as Ottokar in Carl Maria von Weber's '' Freischütz in 1869.'' After that, he had engagements in Rotterdam, Cologne and Strasbourg. From 1872 to 1875, he was at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, then at the National Theatre Munich until 1883. In 1881 Reichmann made his debut at the Wiener Hofoper, whose ensemble he was a member of from 1883 to 1889 and from 1893 to 1903. Bodensee
Lake Constance (german: Bodensee, ) refers to three bodies of water on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps: Upper Lake Constance (''Obersee''), Lower Lake Constance (''Untersee''), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Lake Rhine (''Seerhein''). These waterbodies lie within the Lake Constance Basin () in the Alpine Foreland through which the Rhine flows. The lake is situated where Germany, Switzerland, and Austria meet. Victor Ernst Nessler
Viktor (or Victor) Ernst Nessler (28 January 1841 – 28 May 1890) was an Alsatian composer who worked mainly in Leipzig. Nessler was born at Baldenheim near Sélestat, Alsace. At Strasbourg he began his university career with the study of theology, but he concluded it with the production of a light opera entitled ''Fleurette'' (1864). To complete his knowledge of music Nessler went to Leipzig to study with Moritz Hauptmann. ' (''The Flying Dutchman''), WWV 63, is a German-language opera, with libretto and music by Richard Wagner. The central theme is redemption through love. Wagner conducted the premiere at the Königliches Hoftheater Dresden in 1843. Wagner claimed in his 1870 autobiography '' Mein Leben'' that he had been inspired to write the opera following a stormy sea crossing he made from Riga to London in July and August 1839. ''Hans Heiling'' is a German Romantic opera in 3 acts with prologue by Heinrich Marschner with a libretto by Eduard Devrient, who also sang the title role at the première at the Königliche Hofoper (now Berlin State Opera), Berlin, on 24 May 1833. From there, the work went on to become Marschner's most successful opera. The opera brought the composer a considerable reputation, although this did not materially affect his position in Hanover, where he was music director of the Court Theatre. '' Der Vampyr '' (''The Vampire'') is a Romantic opera in two acts by Heinrich Marschner. The German libretto by Wilhelm August Wohlbrück (Marschner's brother-in-law) is based on the play ''Der Vampir oder die Totenbraut'' (1821) by Heinrich Ludwig Ritter, which itself was based on the short story ''The Vampyre'' (1819) by John Polidori. ''William Tell'' (french: Guillaume Tell, link=no; it, Guglielmo Tell, link=no) is a French-language opera in four acts by Italian composer Gioachino Rossini to a libretto by Victor-Joseph Étienne de Jouy and L. F. Bis, based on Friedrich Schiller's play '' Wilhelm Tell,'' which, in turn, drew on the William Tell legend. The opera was Rossini's last, although he lived for nearly 40 more years.
