The Zeppelin Record
''The Zeppelin Record'' is the fifth studio album by Dogbowl, released in September 1998 by Lithium Records. Released five years after 1993's '' Project Success'', ''The Zeppelin Record'' marked the first time Dogbowl had not issued an album through Shimmy Disc and had gone without the collaborative aid of his brother Christopher Tunney and producer Kramer. Instead, he opted to produce the album himself in Paris, where he had been living with his wife and children. Dogbowl
Stephen Tunney, also known as Dogbowl, is an American artist, musician and novelist. He is a founding member of the experimental music, avant-garde band King Missile, King Missile (Dog Fly Religion), and has recorded many albums as a solo act. He is also the author of two novels, the surrealism, surreal, post-apocalyptic ''Flan,'' published in 1992 by Four Walls Eight Windows, and ''One Hundred Percent Lunar Boy,'' published in 2010 by MacAdam/Cage. ''One Hundred Percent Lunar Boy'' takes place on a terraformed Moon two thousand years in the future and chronicles the misadventures of sixteen-year-old Hieronymus Rexaphin, a boy who can see the fourth primary color, and the trouble he gets into after showing his unusual eyes to a teenage tourist girl from Earth. Folk Rock
Folk rock is a fusion genre of rock music with heavy influences from pop, English and American folk music. It arose in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s. In the U.S., folk rock emerged from the folk music revival. Shimmy Disc
Shimmy-Disc is a New York City–based independent record label founded in 1987 by Mark Kramer. Before it was sold to the Knitting Factory, artists like Bongwater, Daniel Johnston, Low, Fly Ashtray, Galaxie 500, King Missile, Boredoms, Ruins, Ween, Gwar, The Semibeings, and Uncle Wiggly recorded on the label. Label founder, Kramer, also has production credits on records by Half Japanese, White Zombie, Yo La Tengo, John Zorn, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, memorable parts of the ''Pulp Fiction'' soundtrack, the Butthole Surfers and many others (some of whom he toured with or otherwise performed alongside). Nicolas Jean Vernhes is a French record producer, recording engineer and record label owner. He is best known for his work with the American indie rock acts Animal Collective, Deerhunter, The Fiery Furnaces, Dirty Projectors, Wild Nothing and The War on Drugs. Vernhes operates out of his own studio, Rare Book Room Studios, in Brooklyn, New York.
