Phil Rosen
Philip E. Rosen (May 8, 1888 – October 22, 1951) was an American film director and cinematographer. He directed more than 140 films between 1915 and 1949. He was born in Malbork, Marienburg, German Empire (now, Malbork, Poland), grew up in Machias, Maine, and died in Hollywood, California, of a heart attack. He was one of the founders of the American Society of Cinematographers. Rosen was married to model and actress Joyzelle Joyner. Rosen was meant to direct ''The Mad Dog of Europe'', a film written by Herman J. Mankiewicz with Rudolph Hitler as its central character, but the film was never made. Olive Hasbrouck
Olive Hasbrouck (1907–1976) was an American film actress of the silent era. Hasbrouck and her mother moved from Boise to Hollywood, where Hasbrouck attended Hollywood High School. She began working in films as an extra at Universal City. When she was 17, she had the lead female role in ''Ridgeway of Montana''. In January 1929, she signed with First National, with the studio slating her to be the leading lady in ''The Royal Rider''. Hasbrouck retired when sound films were introduced. Sarah Ann Padden (16 October 1881 – 4 December 1967) was an English-born American theatre and film character actress. She performed on stage in the early 20th century. Her best-known single-act performance was in ''The Clod'', a stage production in which she played an uneducated woman who lived on a farm during the American Civil War. Early life Born in England to an Irish immigrant father, Michael Padden, and an English mother, the family emigrated to the United States on the S/S ''Ohio'' from England passing through the Port of Philadelphia in 1889.
