The Who Tour 2000
The Who Tour 2000 was partially in support of The Who's live album '' The Blues to the Bush'' and their first full-fledged tour as a five-piece band since The Who Tour 1982. History The group's successful series of shows in late The Who 1999 Performances led them to carry out a much longer series of dates, with three two-week legs in the United States and another 11 shows in the United Kingdom. Both the first and last shows of the year were charity performances, the latter at London's Royal Albert Hall and including special guests. The Royal Albert Hall show was also released on CD and DVD (see "Live Releases" below). The group began by playing a charity show at the Jacob K. The Who
The Who are an English rock band formed in London in 1964. The Concert For New York City
The Concert for New York City was a benefit concert, featuring many famous musicians, that took place on October 20, 2001 at Madison Square Garden in New York City in response to the September 11 attacks. Aside from performing for charity, the concert was an attempt to honor the first responders from the New York City Fire Department and New York City Police Department, their families, and those lost in the attacks and those who had worked in the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in the weeks since that time. The Who Tour 1970
The Tommy Tour was a concert tour by the English rock band the Who. It was in support of their fourth album, the rock opera ''Tommy'' (1969), and consisted of concerts split between North America and Europe. Following a press reception gig, the tour officially began on 9 May 1969 and ended on 20 December 1970. The set list featured the majority of the songs from ''Tommy'', as well as originals and covers. After multiple rehearsals and warm-up gigs, the band did a private show at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, London in early May 1969 intended to preview ''Tommy'' to the press. Subsequently, the band did a North American tour playing the new album, which was well received by audiences. History Aside from six warm-up shows in Europe, the tour focused primarily on the areas of North America not covered in the band's previous tour, which had focused on the northeastern United States. The set list was very similar to what they played on that tour, save the omission of "The Punk and the Godfather", which was only performed once in 1980. "Relay" (titled "The Relay" in the United States) is a song written by Pete Townshend, the guitarist of the Who, for the band's aborted '' Lifehouse'' project. The song was also released as a moderately successful single in 1972. It was also the last non-album single by the Who until "Real Good Looking Boy", 32 years later. Background "Relay" was originally written as part of the unfinished '' Lifehouse'' rock opera, however, like " Join Together", it was not written until 1972, when Pete Townshend revisited the project, at Roger Daltrey's suggestion. In 1972, the song was resurrected to be used in ''Rock Is Dead—Long Live Rock!'', another abandoned Who album that was to be released in 1972. ''Lifehouse'' is an unfinished science fiction rock opera by The Who intended as a follow-up to ''Tommy''. It was abandoned as a rock opera in favour of creating the traditional rock album ''Who's Next'', though its songs would appear on various albums and singles by the Who, as well as Pete Townshend solo albums. In 1978, aspects of the Lifehouse project were revisited by the Who on ''Who Are You''. In 2000, Townshend revived the Lifehouse concept with his set ''Lifehouse Chronicles'' and the sampler '' Lifehouse Elements''. On 1 May 2007, he released an online software called ''The Lifehouse Method'' in which any "sitter" could create a musical "portrait". The site is now defunct. John Douglas "Rabbit" Bundrick (born November 21, 1948 in Houston, Texas) is an American–English rock keyboardist. He is best known for his work with The Who and associations with others including Eric Burdon, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Roger Waters, Free and Crawler. Bundrick is noted as the principal musician for the cult film '' The Rocky Horror Picture Show''.
