The Village Green is a Portland, Oregon indie rock band, composed of lead vocalist/guitarist/composer J. Nicholas Allard and drummer/producer/back-up vocalist Jeremy Sherrer, bassist/back-up vocalist Dave Depper, and lead guitarist/back-up vocalist Nathan Junior. The band reformed in 2012. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. SpinART Records was a New York City-based independent record label that released recordings by The Apples in Stereo, Clem Snide, Frank Black, and Michael Penn. The label was started by Joel Morowitz and Jeff Price in 1991. SpinART filed for bankruptcy in April 2007 and went out of business. Fruit Bats (band)
Fruit Bats is an American rock band formed in 1997 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Noted as an early entrant into the folk-rock boom of the early 2000s, the group has had many personnel changes but revolves around singer/songwriter Eric D. Johnson. History In 2000, Eric D. Johnson was an instructor at The Old Town School of Folk Music, led his own space-rock band called I Rowboat, and was a guitarist in various groups, including Califone and The Shins. He also had a four-track solo outlet called Fruit Bats, which he had been working on since 1997. Fruit Bats had begun to evolve into a band with the inclusion of I Rowboat members Dan Strack and Brian Belval and in 2001, their debut record ''Echolocation'' was released on Califone's imprint, Perishable Records. Tours followed with the likes of Modest Mouse and The Shins. Loch Lomond (band)
Loch Lomond is an American indie folk band based in Portland, Oregon, founded as a solo recording project of Ritchie Young in 2003. History Regarding the origins of the band name, Ritchie Young stated "I wanted to call the band The Mountains but there are tons of "mountains" bands. We ordered some reel-to-reel tape on eBay and it had a sticker on the box that said Loch Lomond. On the tape itself were old French nuns singing. We sampled that in our first record." With help of engineer/producer Rob Oberdorfer, Young crafted the first Loch Lomond album, ''When We Were Mountains'' with Ryan Cross and Kate O'Brien in 2004. Over the next few years, Loch Lomond performed around Portland, Oregon and the greater Pacific Northwest in various incarnations. Live performances would range from Young by himself to a full band. Dave Depper
Dave Depper is an American musician and multi-instrumentalist, best known as the guitarist and keyboardist for the indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie. Music career Depper began his career playing with various Pacific NW artists, including Menomena, Fruit Bats (band), Fruit Bats, Mirah, Corin Tucker, and Laura Gibson. In 2014, Depper joined Ray LaMontagne, Ray LaMontagne's touring band; he was later recruited by Indie Rock pioneers Death Cab for Cutie during their 2015 world tour in support of their eighth album, ''Kintsugi (album), Kintsugi''. Following the departure of member Chris Walla, Depper and fellow musician Zac Rae joined Death Cab as full-time members, receiving credits on the band's ninth album, ''Thank You for Today.''
