The View (band)
The View are a Scottish indie rock band that formed in Dundee in 2005. They incorporate various styles such as punk rock, punk, pop music, pop, alternative rock, and folk rock, folk in their music. They are best known for their 2007 single "Same Jeans" which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The band have released five studio albums since their platinum selling debut ''Hats Off to the Buskers'', which topped the UK Albums Chart in January 2007 and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, 2007 Mercury Music Prize. ''Hats Off to the Buskers'' is the debut album by Scottish band The View (band), The View. It was released on 22 January 2007 on 1965 Records. It was reported on the band's official forum that the album had leaked to various internet sites in mid December 2006. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at 1 on 28 January 2007. The album charted at No. 45 on the UK end-of-year album chart, after selling around 319,000 copies in 2007. The album has been certified platinum. It was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize. St John's RC High School
St John's Roman Catholic High School is a secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. It was founded early in 1931 by the Marist Brothers, a religious congregation dedicated to education and under the patronage of the Virgin Mary. The school had eight houses named after abbeys in Scotland: Balmerino, Melrose, Jedburgh, Lindores, Paisley, Kelso, Iona and Dunkeld. Squeeze (band)
Squeeze are an English Rock music, rock band that came to prominence in the United Kingdom during the New wave music, new wave period of the late 1970s, and continued recording in the 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. In the UK, their singles "Cool for Cats (song), Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction (song), Up the Junction", and "Labelled with Love" were top-ten chart hits. T In The Park
T in the Park festival was a major Scottish music festival that was held annually from 1994 to 2016. It was named after its main sponsor, Tennents. The event was held at Strathclyde Park, Lanarkshire, until 1996. It then moved to the disused Balado airfield, Perth and Kinross, from 1997 to 2014. In 2015 the festival moved to Strathallan Castle. It was originally held over two days, and extended to three days from 2007. In 2016 the daily capacity was 70,000. The 2017 T in the Park was cancelled due to problems at the 2016 event. It was officially replaced with the TRNSMT festival which takes place on the same weekend at Glasgow Green. The 2017 festival was a success and further editions of TRNSMT followed in 2018 and 2019.
