The Unforgiven (band)
The Unforgiven were a roots rock band that existed for four years during the 1980s. They were signed with a two-record deal to Elektra Records after a bidding war with Warner Bros. Records and several other labels. One label was willing to sign the band unseen and unheard. The band's attire and overall look was compared to that of actors in a Spaghetti Western; three-quarter length overcoats, dusty boots, and wide brimmed hats. The lineup on the band's sole album (released in 1986) featured Steve Jones aka John Henry Jones (lead vocals, guitar), Johnny Hickman (guitar and vocals), Just Jones aka Mike Jones (guitar and vocals), Todd Ross (guitar and vocals), Mike Finn (bass and vocals) and Alan Waddington (drums and vocals). The Inland Empire (commonly abbreviated as the IE) is a metropolitan area and region inland of and adjacent to coastal Southern California, centering around the cities of San Bernardino and Riverside, and bordering Los Angeles County and Orange County to the west and San Diego County to the south. Madame Wong's
Esther Wong (August 13, 1917 – August 14, 2005) was a Chinese-American music promoter, called the "Godmother of Punk rock, Punk" in Los Angeles, California. Life Esther Wong was born in Shanghai in 1917. Her father had been an automobile importer, and she had been well-educated and well-traveled before emigrating to the United States in 1949 to escape the Chinese Communist Revolution, Communist takeover of China. She worked as a clerk for a shipping company for 20 years before opening Madame Wong's (黃家園), a Los Angeles Chinatown restaurant with a floorshow—originally at 949 Sun Mun Way, located in the original 1938 Rice Bowl restaurant. ''Then & Now'' is a compilation album by British rock supergroup Asia, released on 13 August 1990 by Geffen Records. It consists of two parts titled as ''Then'' and ''Now''. ''Then'' comprises songs from the band's first two albums, ''Asia'' and ''Alpha'', which featured the band's original line-up of Geoff Downes, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, and John Wetton. ''Now'' comprises songs recorded by the band after Howe's departure (including "Voice of America" from the band's third album, ''Astra''). Reception ''Then & Now'' has received negative reception from music critics. Greg Sandow in his review for ''Entertainment Weekly'' gave the album a rating of C. Citrus College is a public community college in Glendora, California. Manor Downs
Manor Downs was a horse racetrack located outside Manor, Texas, United States. It was Texas' oldest pari-mutuel horse racetrack. Live racing in the spring featured both quarter horse and thoroughbred racing. Simulcast racing was also available. Frances Carr and Sam Cutler began development of Manor Downs in 1975 on of land that had an old horse race track on it. They initially planned for Manor Downs to be a horse-training stable and fairground facility. Manor Downs originally hosted just quarter-horse racing; but when pari-mutuel betting was legalized, the track was later upgraded for thoroughbred racing in order to qualify for a pari-mutuel license. Manor Downs was licensed as a class 2 racetrack in Texas. A class 2 racetrack is a racetrack on which racing is conducted for no more than 44 days in a calendar year.
