''The Unbroken Cycle'' (解连环) is a TV drama series produced by the former Television Corporation of Singapore (predecessor of Mediacorp, MediaCorp, starring Singapore actors Fann Wong and Thomas Ong. A television adaptation of a mystery novel by Singaporean novelist Wu Weicai about the fate of two star-crossed lovers over three lifetimes in pre-war (1920s), post-war (1950s) and modern Singapore, this 1996 drama serial won Fann Wong her first regional nomination as Best Actress at the Asian Television Awards. Fann Wong
Fann Woon Fong (born 27 January 1971), known professionally as Fann Wong, is a Singaporean actress, singer, businesswoman and model. She has been referred to as one of MediaCorp's ''Ah Jie'' for being one of the most successful actresses from Singapore. At the local Star Awards 1995, Fann became the first actress to snag three prominent awards in the same year: Best Actress, Best Newcomer and Top 5 Most Popular Female Artiste. Thomas Ong Thian Chai (born 1 February 1969) is a Singaporean actor, television host and businessman. Career Ong was a flight steward with Singapore Airlines before entering the entertainment industry. He joined the newly formed Television Corporation of Singapore Mediacorp Pte. Ltd. is the state media, state-owned media conglomerate of Singapore. Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean Mandarin-language free-to-air terrestrial television channel in Singapore, owned by state media conglomerate Mediacorp. The channel broadcasts general entertainment and news programming in the Mandarin language, including original and imported programming. The channel began a series of experimental broadcasts on 31 August 1963, and officially launched on 22 November 1963. As with its sister Channel 5, the channel would initially air programming in all four of Singapore's official languages, although having a particular focus on the Chinese and Tamil communities. Adaptation
In biology, adaptation has three related meanings. Firstly, it is the dynamic evolutionary process of natural selection that fits organisms to their environment, enhancing their evolutionary fitness. Asian Television Awards
The Asian Television Awards, founded in 1996, is an appreciation to recognize and reward programming and production excellence in the Asian television industry. Held every December, it comprises 56 categories across news, documentaries and current affairs, kids and animation, entertainment, drama, technical, digital, as well as performances including acting and directing. The Awards draw about 1,400 entries each year from a wide range of Broadcasting, broadcasters, including free-to-air TV stations, pay-TV platforms, OTT platforms, as well as many independent production houses in Asia. Carole Lin
Carole Lin (born 23 February 1973) is a Singaporean actress. Lin was a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1995 to 2009. She won the Star Awards for Best Actress in 1997 for her role in '' The Price of Peace''. Early life and career Lin used to do motorcycling, bungee jumping and parachuting. Lin was a waitress at a steak restaurant at Bukit Timah when she first started work. Then 16, she earned 800 monthly and worked for about three months before enrolling into Singapore Polytechnic to study biotechnology.
