The Tricky Master
''The Tricky Master'' (千王之王2000) is a 1999 Hong Kong crime comedy film directed by Wong Jing. The film is set in Happy Valley, Hong Kong. A police detective requests work on a major case, in hopes of a promotion. He is assigned with spying on a high-profile con-artist, and he loses his job when he is tricked by his subject. The disgraced detective then requests lessons in becoming a con-artist by an experienced master of the trade, as he seeks revenge. Wong Jing
Wong Yat-cheong, known professionally as Wong Jing (, born 3 May 1955), is a Hong Kong filmmaker and actor. A prolific filmmaker with strong instincts for crowd-pleasing and publicity, he played a prominent role in Hong Kong cinema during the 1990s. Biography Wong was born in Hong Kong, the son of noted film director Wong Tin-Lam. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a degree in Chinese literature which he describes as "useless" (Yang, 2003). Like many Hong Kong film figures of his time, Wong began his career in television – in his case, scriptwriting for local juggernaut TVB beginning in 1975 (Teo, 1997). Dr Law Kar-ying (born September 22, 1946) is a Hong Kong Cantonese opera singer and actor. Background Born Law Hang-tong on September 22 (August 27 Lunar), 1946 in Shunde, Guangdong as the eldest son of actor Law Kar-kuen (羅家權) and his wife Lee Ngan-guen (李銀娟). His younger brothers are Law Yiu-tong (羅耀堂), Law Yau-tong (羅友堂), and Law Shiu-tong (羅紹堂). His younger sister is Law Sok-ching (羅素貞). In 1949, his family moved to Hong Kong. ''Tricky Brains'' (), also known as ''The Ultimate Trickster'', is a 1991 Hong Kong comedy film written and directed by Wong Jing, who also co-stars in the film. Lim Por-yen（21 December 1914 – 18 February 2005) was a Hong Kong industrialist. He founded the Lai Sun Group, and his family was the biggest shareholder of Asia Television. Biography Lim was born in Chaoyang, Shantou, on 21 December 1914. He grew up in Shantou and Hong Kong. His father was a banker in Shantou. He moved to Hong Kong with his father in 1931. Suki Kwan Sau Mei () is a former Hong Kong model and actress; she has retired from the entertainment industry since 2005. Tats Lau Yee-Tat (; born 23 February 1963) is a Hong Kong musician, songwriter and actor. Music career During the 1980s, Tats Lau was active in Hong Kong's independent music scene. He established several underground bands including DLLM and OEO (Oriental Electric Orchestra, which was influenced by YMO). Lee Siu-kei
Lee Siu-kei (; 4 December 1949 – 2 June 2019) was a Hong Kong actor, scriptwriter and producer. He was a triad member and served as consultant for many Hong Kong triad movies. Lee left organized crime after being invited to act by director Ringo Lam in the 1980s. Lee along with Shing Fui-On, Ho Ka-kui, and Kwong Leung Wong were known as the "top four villains of the Hong Kong film industry" due to their prominence in the 1980s and 1990s. Lee was referred to as "基哥" or "Brother Kei". Lee suffered a stroke in early 2015 and affected his mobility. Since then, his involvement in the entertainment industry has declined. He admitted he had financial problems, as most of his life savings had been used for medical treatment. Personal life Lee married Yau Hau Ching, his girlfriend of 30 years, in February 2019. Kenneth Lo Wai-Kwong (born 17 March 1959), professionally known as Ken Lo, is a Cambodian-Hong Kong actor, martial artist, and stuntman. He is known for his martial arts and stunt work as a former member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, most notably for his antagonistic role as John in '' Drunken Master II'' (1994).
