The Trap is a single by German industrial music band X Marks the Pedwalk, taken from the album which follows it, '' Human Desolation''. It was released by Zoth Ommog in Europe as both an LP and CD. Summary ''The Trap'' is the fifth single by X Marks the Pedwalk, the sixth including the band's earlier name, Scarecrow. "The Trap", like ''Abattoir'', preceded the release of the full-length album from which it was taken, in this case the album was ''Human Desolation''. The preceding single, ''Cenotaph'', was the last appearance by Sevren Ni-Arb's bandmate Regan Eracs, thus to fill the void for the production of ''The Trap'', Sevren Ni-Arb enlisted the help of his brother, who became known as Raive Yarx. Although the lineup had changed, most listeners did not acknowledge a major stylistic shift until much later. X Marks the Pedwalk (sometimes written as X-Marks the Pedwalk) is a German band whose styles range from post-industrial dance to electronic body music. X Marks the Pedwalk’s influence in the industrial and electronic music scenes was considerable during the 1990s, as they were one of the first and most popular acts from the now defunct record label, Zoth Ommog. History X Marks the Pedwalk – initially named "Scarecrow" – was founded by Sevren Ni-Arb (born André Schmechta, May 13, 1969) in 1987. Schmechta, who did the writing, production, and engineering of all X Marks the Pedwalk tracks, was the only consistent member throughout X Marks the Pedwalk’s history. Schmechta, a classically trained musician, became interested in synthesizers at an early age, and found himself part of several bands after he was able to buy his first keyboard at the age of 16. Zoth Ommog
Zoth Ommog Records was a German record label that focused on Industrial music and was owned by parent label Music Research. The company was established by German music producer Andreas Tomalla (aka Talla 2XLC) in 1989 and later handed over to producer Torben Schmidt of the band Lights of Euphoria. The label released albums for such bands as Leæther Strip, X Marks the Pedwalk, Bigod 20, Lights of Euphoria and Klinik between 1989 and 1999. The company based its name on the fictional character Zoth-Ommog in the Cthulhu Mythos. In the United States, many of the Zoth Ommog artists were released in the US under Cleopatra Records and Metropolis Records. "Cenotaph" is a 1992 song by German industrial band X Marks the Pedwalk. It was released as a stand-alone maxi single by Zoth Ommog in Europe, in LP and CD formats. Summary X Marks the Pedwalk released "Cenotaph" through the Zoth Ommog label in 1992. It was released as a maxi single on both LP and CD formats.
