The Transporter (1950 Film)
''The Transporter'' (Italian: ''La bisarca'') is a 1950 Italian comedy science fiction film directed by Giorgio Simonelli and starring Peppino De Filippo, Silvana Pampanini, Lída Baarová and Aroldo Tieri. It is based on a radio program with the same name. It was shot at the Farnesina Studios in Rome. The film's sets were designed by the art director Alberto Boccianti. It earned 182 and a half million lira at the Italian box office.Chiti & Poppi p.63 Synopsis A barber is engaged to a manicurist working in the shop, but he grows jealous and picks a quarrel with one of the customers. Giorgio Simonelli (14 November 1901 Birth name: Giorgio Simonelli. – 3 October 1966), was an Italian film director, editor, screenwriter and journalist. Life and career Born in Rome, Simonelli got a high school diploma in business studies, and then started working as a journalist and as a film critic for the weekly magazines ''Avvenimento'' and ''Gente nostra''. In 1928, at 22, he made his directorial debut co-directing with Nicola Fausto Neroni ''Maratona'', and two years later he was among the screenwriters of the first Italian talking film, ''The Song of Love (1930 film), The Song of Love'' by Gennaro Righelli. Carlo Campanini
Carlo Campanini (5 October 1906 – 20 November 1984) was an Italian actor, singer and comedian. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1939 and 1969. Life and career Born in Turin, Campanini attended a technical school and a course of singing, then he started his career at nineteen entering the company of prose Casaleggio, with whom he toured six months in Argentina. In the following years Campanini was cast as singer-comedian and even as a tenor in a number of revue and operetta companies. Clelia Matania (28 March 1918 – 14 October 1981) was an Italian film and voice actress.
