The Thing is an American rock band based out of New York City. A four piece band founded in 2022 by childhood friends Zane Acord (bass/vocals), Jack Bradley (guitar), and Michael Carter (guitar), the trio added drummer Lucas Ebeling in 2023. The group's style has been described as "psyche-garage", with a genre defying sound that marries the grit of '90s grunge with a melodic, retro streak echoing the classic rock influence of the '60s and '70s. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Boston Calling Music Festival is a Boston-based music festival. The festival debuted in May 2013 and previously took place twice a year, May and September, at City Hall Plaza. The festival reportedly attracted 20,000–22,000 fans with its earlier editions, eventually drawing roughly 40,000 festival goers in 2017.
