The Swedish Number was a tourism campaign that included a Telephone number, phone number to call Swedes that volunteered to participate, by the Swedish Tourist Association, Intelcom, and the Swedish Institute. It was released on April 6, 2016, and was ended on July 25. History The campaign was in development for 2 years. Near a month before the campaign released, Visit Sweden left development. On April 6, 2016, the Swedish Tourist Association along with Intelcom, Ingo Stockholm, and the Swedish Institute released the campaign. The campaign was released on the 250th anniversary of the Censorship in Sweden#Abolition of censorship, removal of censorship in Sweden. The date when the campaign was supposed to end on was June 6th if it didn't find a Sponsor (commercial), sponsor for the amount of money for maintaining the campaign's calls, but on July 25th, the campaign ended. Swedish Tourist Association
The Swedish Tourist Association ( sv, Svenska Turistföreningen, ; abbreviated STF), founded in 1885, aims at promoting outdoor life and knowledge among the Swedes about their country. The Association maintains a variety of trails, huts and hostels in different parts of Sweden. It became known for the creation of Kungsleden, a 440 kilometer long hiking trail in Lapland, through one of Europe's largest remaining wilderness areas. The association has approximately 300,000 members, employing about 500 people of which 400 for seasonal work, for instance as landlords for 45 fell huts and 10 larger fell hostels.
