The Storm Riders
''The Storm Riders'' is a 1998 Hong Kong ''wuxia'' fantasy film based on the manhua series ''Fung Wan'' by artist Ma Wing-shing. Directed by Andrew Lau, it starred Ekin Cheng as Wind and Aaron Kwok as Cloud. The plot involves two children, Whispering Wind and Striding Cloud, who become powerful warriors under the evil Lord Conqueror's tutelage. The sequel to the film, titled '' The Storm Warriors'' and directed by the Pang brothers, was released in 2009. Plot The evil Lord Conqueror, head of Conqueror's Clan, is given a prophecy by Mud Buddha when quizzed about his delayed duel with Sword Saint. The prophecy translates that if Conqueror finds two young children by the name of Wind and Cloud he will have good fortune. Andrew Lau Wai-keung ( zh, t=劉偉強, born 4 April 1960) is a Hong Kong film director, producer, and cinematographer. Lau began his career in the 1980s and 1990s, serving as a cinematographer to filmmakers such as Ringo Lam, Wong Jing and Wong Kar-wai. In the 1990s, Lau decided to have more creative freedom as a cinematographer by becoming a film director and producer. () are Chinese-language comics produced in China and Taiwan. Whilst Chinese comics and narrated illustrations have existed in China in some shape or form throughout its imperial history, the term first appeared in 1904 in a comic titled ''Current Affairs Comics'' () in the Shanghai-based newspaper ''Jingzhong Daily'' (). Etymology The word was originally an 18th-century term used in Chinese literati painting. It became popular in Japan as ''manga'' in the late 19th century. Elvis Tsui Kam-kong (born October 12, 1961) is a Hong Kong actor and artist. Tsui is primarily known for his roles in erotic films and martial arts films, where he's more often cast as villains. Alex Fong Chung-sun (; born 17 March 1963) is a Hong Kong actor. He married actress Hoyan Mok in 2008; they have one daughter. Incidents Fong has been a brand representative of DOXA, a brand of watches since 2008. In the opening ceremony of DOXA's flagship store in Guangzhou, Fong was sexually harassed by another female guest of the event.
