The Spooky Bunch
''The Spooky Bunch'' (小姐撞到鬼 a.k.a. 撞到正) is a 1980 Hong Kong movie directed by Ann Hui. It is Hui's second film, after ''The Secret''. Plot The film is about a Cantonese opera troupe arrives on Cheung Chau Island to perform a show under the request by a wealthy man, Mr Ma who insists that and Ah Chi (Josephine Siao), their second rate supporting actress, takes the leading role in the performance. Mr Ma also invites his nephew Dick Ma (Kenny Bee) to the island to watch the show. He hopes by arranging this his nephew will marry Ah Chi so that his family curse being done by Ah Chi's her grandfather placed on this grandfather can be released. Ann Hui
Ann Hui On-wah, (; born 23 May 1947) is a film director, producer, screenwriter and actress from Hong Kong who is one of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers of the Hong Kong New Wave. She is known for her films about social issues in Hong Kong which include: literary adaptations, martial arts, semi-autobiographical works, women's issues, social phenomena, political changes, and thrillers. She served as the president of the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild from 2004 to 2006. Hui has won numerous awards. Cantonese opera is one of the major categories in Chinese opera, originating in southern China's Guangdong Province. Josephine Siao
Josephine Siao Fong-fong () is a Hong Kong film star who became popular as a child actress and continued her success as a mature actress, winning numerous awards including Best Actress at the 45th Berlin International Film Festival (for ''Summer Snow''). Since retiring from show business (partly due to her increasing deafness), she has become a writer and a psychologist, known for her work against child abuse.
