''Snorks'' is an animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and SEPP International S.A. in collaboration with 3M France and ran for a total of 4 seasons, consisting of a pilot episode and 65 episodes (108 segments), on NBC from September 15, 1984, to March 15, 1989. William Hanna
William Denby Hanna (July 14, 1910 – March 22, 2001) was an American animator, voice actor, and musician who is best known for co-creating ''Tom and Jerry'' and providing the vocal effects for the series' title characters. Alongside Joseph Barbera, he also founded the animation studio and production company Hanna-Barbera. Hanna joined the Harman and Ising animation studio in 1930 and steadily gained skill and prominence while working on cartoons such as ''The Captain and the Kids (MGM animated series), Captain and the Kids''. In 1937, while working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Hanna met Barbera. Pierre Culliford (; 25 June 1928 – 24 December 1992) was a Belgian comics writer and artist who worked under the pseudonym Peyo (). His best-known works are the comic book series ''The Smurfs'' and '' Johan and Peewit'', in the latter of which the Smurfs made their first appearance. Freddy Monnickendam is a businessman and executive producer of the animated television series ''The Smurfs'' (1981), ''Snorks'' (1984), and '' Foofur'' (1986). Biography Freddy Monnickendam came into contact with comics when he negotiated the rights to ''The Smurfs'' for Father Abraham. Afterwards, he became the head of ''SEPP International S.A.'' (SEPP stands for "La Société d'Edition, de Presse et de Publicité"), the company branch of Dupuis (the editor of ''The Smurfs'') that was responsible for the merchandising of the comic heroes. Pierre Kartner
Petrus Antonius Laurentius Kartner (11 April 1935 – 8 November 2022) was a Dutch musician, singer-songwriter and record producer who performed under the stage name Vader Abraham (''Father Abraham''). He wrote around 1600 songs. Early life and songwriting Kartner was born on 11 April 1935. He started his singing career at the age of eight, winning a local festival. He lived with his family in Amsterdam and worked in a chocolate factory. Kartner worked as a promoter and producer at a record label Dureco with Annie de Reuver, with whom he formed Duo X. ''The Smurfs'' (; Dutch: ''De Smurfen'') is a Belgian comic series, created by cartoonist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford). The titular creatures were introduced as supporting characters in an already established series, '' Johan and Peewit'' in 1958, and starred in their own series from 1959. ''The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera'' is an American animated syndicated programming block produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions that ran on a weekly schedule and was performed in live action. The program ran from 1985 to 1994. Overview The block premiered on Sunday, September 15, 1985, and included an array of both old and new Hanna-Barbera original cartoon shows. The show aired on Sundays in most markets, but some stations broadcast it on both weekdays and Saturdays.
