The Snob Buster
''The Snob Buster'' is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Albert S. Rogell and starring Reed Howes, Wilfred Lucas, and George B. French. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Theodore Pendergast, the only son in a wealthy Boston family, goes to training camp. A few years later, he returns as a regular guy. With him comes his buddy Butch McGuire, an ex-prize fighter. His family treats Butch with disdain, and insist upon their son undergoing an examination from four mental specialists. They recommend that he go to a private sanitarium. Ted rebels, and goes to live with Butch. He falls in love with the former fighter's sister Molly. Max Asher, born Max Ascher, (May 5, 1885 – April 15, 1957) was an American actor whose career spanned the early silent film era to talkies in the early 1930s. His career began on stage. He appeared in various comedic shorts. He was tall, and weighed more than . In the 1920s he transitioned to character actor roles. He was born in Oakland. Asher was part of Universal Pictures' Joker Comedy unit with Gale Henry and Milburn Morante. Asher appeared in a title role with Henry in ''Lady Baffles and Detective Duck'' and 12 short films produced by Pat Powers in 1915. He died in Los Angeles. Gloria Grey (born Maria Dragomanovich; October 23, 1909 – November 22, 1947) was an American screen and stage actress and director, appearing in mainly dramatic/romantic films during the silent era and after. Career Grey was born Maria Dragomanovich in Portland, Oregon in 1909. She was educated in San Francisco, California. Before beginning her career in film, Grey appeared onstage in vaudeville shows with the Gus Edwards Revue. Her career was spent chiefly during the 1920s in Hollywood, and the 1940s in Argentina. Her first film credit was the 1923 movie ''Bag and Baggage''. She was given praise for her starring role in the 1924 adaptation of Gene Stratton-Porter's '' A Girl of the Limberlost'', which garnered her the honor of being selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars in 1924.
