Enon (band)
Enon was an indie rock band founded by John Schmersal, Rick Lee, and Steve Calhoon that was active from 1997 to 2011; for most of its history, however, Enon was a three-piece outfit composed of Schmersal, Toko Yasuda, and Matt Schulz. Though situated for a time in Philadelphia, Enon was primarily known for being part of the New York music scene. Enon was known for using Moog synthesizers and Teisco guitars. Schmersal's green guitar he often used on stage was a Teisco TG-64, and he also owns a Teisco Del Rey. Yasuda played a Fender Jazz Bass with an adapted tuning machine, which allowed quickly tuning to D from E. Schmersal also owns a custom built Twister guitar built by Yuri Landman, an alternate version of the Springtime exclusively crafted for Enon with some additional features such as a scalloped fretboard and an additional pickup in the bridge. Les Savy Fav ( ) is an American indie rock band based in New York City. Their style is influenced by art punk and post-hardcore. The group is known for the stage presence of lead singer Tim Harrington. The band is signed to Frenchkiss Records, which is owned by the band's bassist, Syd Butler. History The group's original 1995 line-up all met while attending the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. Live shows are punctuated by the antics of frontman Harrington, including interacting with audience members and on-stage wardrobe changes. The rest of the band continues to play as if nothing out of the ordinary is happening. Guitar player Gibb Slife left the band after their second LP. Drummer Mahoney was replaced by Harrison Haynes. The band started a planned hiatus in mid-2005, which led to speculation that they might have broken up, but Harrington confirmed that Les Savy Fav would return and indeed they did, playing a live performance at the British All ... Lifter Puller
Lifter Puller, or LFTR PLLR, was an American indie rock band from the Twin Cities and the Boston area between 1994 and 2000. Their music is considered innovative, with its angular riffs and a synth-infused sound that predated the 1980s revival trends of the early 2000s. The band released three LPs and an EP before breaking up in the summer of 2000. In 2002, the compilation ''Soft Rock'' was released, featuring nearly every song in the Lifter Puller catalogue, excluding their final album, '' Fiestas and Fiascos'', and the songs "Prescription Sunglasses", "Emperor", "Slips Backwards," and "Bitchy Christmas," as well as the original version of "Nassau Colisseum," the b-side to the "Slips Backwards" single. After several years out of print, all of the original Lifter Puller records were re-issued digitally with bonus tracks in December 2009. Palomar (band)
Palomar is an indie rock band out of Brooklyn, New York. Profile The band originally formed in 1998. Rachel Warren is the only original member still in the band, though Rachel and Christina had been in the band Trixie Belden together before Palomar. Sarah and Dale have been in Palomar since making their third record. They have completed national U.S. tours every year since 2003, including a tour shared with nationally renowned indie bands Mates of State, Spoon (band), Luna (1990s American band), The Wrens, Nada Surf, etc. Their music has heard praise from various magazines including ''Pitchfork Media'' and ''The Austin Chronicle''. The blend of rock music and melodic female vocals create a simple and driving pop sound reminiscent of Rilo Kiley.
