The Scratch are an Irish band based in Dublin, whose music blends Irish traditional music and Heavy metal music, heavy metal. Career The Scratch were founded in Perrystown in 2016 by Three of the Five members of Red Enemy, a Heavy metal music, heavy metal group. They released their first album ''Couldn't Give a Rats'' in 2020, and their second ''Mind Yourself'' in 2023. It was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. Choice Music Prize
The Choice Music Prize (), known for sponsorship reasons as the RTÉ Choice Music Prize is an annual music prize awarded to music from a band or solo musician who is born in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland or holds an Irish passport. For bands, the majority of members must have been born on the island of Ireland or hold an Irish passport. After being broadcast on Today FM for nearly eleven years, in November 2016, it was announced that the Choice Music Prize would broadcast on RTÉ 2fm starting in 2017. The ceremony is held in Vicar Street, Dublin. Since it first began in 2005, the main awards ceremony had been broadcast live on the Irish national radio station, Today FM, every March. It aired as a four-part special, beginning at 7pm and usually concluding at 11pm. Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. The current lineup consists of co-lead vocalist and bassist Ken Casey, drummer Matt Kelly, co-lead vocalist Al Barr (on hiatus from the band since 2022), rhythm and lead guitarist James Lynch, lead guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Tim Brennan, multi-instrumentalist and rhythm guitarist Jeff DaRosa and bassist Kevin Rheault. ''For the People'' is the upcoming thirteenth studio album by American Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys, due to be released on July 4, 2025 (streaming), and October 10, 2025 (CD and LP), on Dummy Luck Records. The CD and LP versions of the album will feature five bonus tracks that will not appear on the streaming version. The album marks the return of longtime singer Al Barr who will appear on just one song. Barr last appeared on the band's 2021 album, '' Turn Up That Dial'', however was absent from the band's two albums that followed. A cajón ( ; "box, crate, drawer") is a box-shaped percussion instrument originally from Peru, played by slapping the front or rear faces (generally thin plywood) with the hands, fingers, or sometimes implements such as brushes, mallets, or sticks.
