The Sandman Universe
''The Sandman Universe'' is a line of American comic books published by DC Comics under its imprints DC Vertigo and DC Black Label. The line launched to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Neil Gaiman's '' The Sandman'' (1989–1996) and Vertigo's 25th anniversary. ''The Sandman Universe'' began in August 2018, with a titular one-shot, which was followed by four ongoing series—''House of Whispers'', ''Lucifer'', '' Books of Magic'', and '' The Dreaming''. Each comic is overseen by Gaiman but written by new creative teams. Conception and development ''The Sandman Universe'' celebrates the 30th anniversary of DC Comics' '' The Sandman'' and the 25th anniversary of the launch of the DC Vertigo imprint. Dark Fantasy
Dark fantasy, also called fantasy horror, is a subgenre of fantasy literary, artistic, and cinematic works that incorporates disturbing and frightening themes. The term is ambiguously used to describe stories that combine horror fiction, horror elements with one or other of the standard formulas of fantasy. Crossover (fiction)
A crossover is the placement of two or more otherwise discrete fictional characters, settings, or universes into the context of a single story. They can arise from legal agreements between the relevant copyright holders (known as intercompany crossovers), common corporate ownership or unofficial efforts by fans. This is different from a spoof, where one discrete character, setting, or universe, copies another character, setting, or universe, often in a comedic manner. Dan Watters is an English people, English Script (comics), comics writer who has written for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and Alternative comics, independent comics. He is best known for his creator-owned comics ''Coffin Bound'' and ''Home Sick Pilots'' and his work on ''Lucifer (DC Comics), Lucifer'' and ''Batman''. Career Watters's first creator-owned comic was the six-issue comic ''Limbo'', which he made with artist Caspar Wijngaard and was published in 2015-2016 through Image Comics.
