The Sandfleas
The Sandfleas are a fictional gang of masked hooligans within the mythology of the superhero-themed American comedy band The Aquabats, who featured prominently as the latter's "arch enemies" in their stage shows and related media during the late 1990s. From 1997 to 1999, The Sandfleas occasionally performed as a live band almost exclusively as an opening act for The Aquabats, fronted by Aquabats creative consultant and GOGO13 singer Parker Jacobs and filled out by a rotating roster of former and present Aquabats members. The group released one extended play on The Aquabats' Horchata Records label before disbanding shortly afterwards. ''The Fury of the Aquabats!'' is the second studio album by American rock band the Aquabats, released on October 28, 1997 by Goldenvoice Records and Time Bomb Recordings. Courtney Adam "Corey" Pollock (born 31 January 1975) is an American musician, best known as a member of the Orange County band The Aquabats, in which he played guitar under the stage name of Chainsaw, the Prince of Karate (alternately Chainsaw Karate) from 1995 to 2006. Chad Albert Larson (born October 27, 1965) is an American musician, best known as the co-founder and bass guitarist for the Orange County rock band The Aquabats, in which he performs under the stage name and persona of Crash McLarson. Surf Music
Surf music (or surf rock, surf pop, or surf guitar) is a genre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California. It was especially popular from 1958 to 1964 in two major forms. The first is instrumental surf, distinguished by reverb-heavy electric guitars played to evoke the sound of crashing waves, largely pioneered by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. The second is vocal surf, which took elements of the original surf sound and added vocal harmonies, a movement led by the Beach Boys. Boyd Terry is an American musician, best known as one of the founding members of the Californian band The Aquabats, of which he served as trumpeter from 1994 to 2002 under the stage name Catboy. Biography Terry helped form the original line-up of The Aquabats in 1994 alongside fellow musicians Christian Jacobs and Chad Larson, all of whom knew each other through mutual friends in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
